Featured review
A good episode towards the very end of the show.
Canadian Inspector in London Maguire investigates an armed robbery at a Jewelers in London, where the trio of villains escape and hide away in a flat.
Robbery with Violence was the penultimate episode of Dial 999, and it's a pretty good later episode.
There are some very nice exterior shots to begin with, when it comes to High Streets, clothes and cars from the 50's and 60's I'm a little obsessed, so there's plenty to enjoy, including a Lyons tea van.
It's a good solid story, with some interesting characters and of course the enjoyable presence of Maguire. An engaging enough thirty minutes, it's well paced with some nice sequences, and some zany characters, the woman with the dog was a hoot.
I loved the dramatic scenes at the end, I only wish the extras could have behaved a little differently, they act as though someone has stopped to take a bite of a sandwich, not just been accosted at gun point.
Enjoyable, 7/10.
