Here Dr Sloan and Jesse are quarantined in Sloan's beach house due to them contracting small pox through unusual circumstances. The two have a sombre mediation on fatherhood, with Dr Sloan referring to his daughter he hasn't seen in six years, and Jesse referring to his father who only plays a fleeting role in his life. Jesse's father appears in season 5, and Dr Sloan's daughter appears in the first movie after the series wrapped up.

Hudson's Bay Blanket!?

A Hudson's Bay blanket is shown VERY prominently in a late scene in an episode where the main characters are infected with smallpox. Because there is no mention of the historical significance of that in the scene, or anywhere else in the episode, there are only a few assumptions left to make. It's a quiet acknowledgement of the attempted genocide, it's an unfortunate coincidental oversight, or it's meant as a mean-spirited gag. I sure hope it's the first one.
