As Mr. Pomeroy climbs the ladder to record the bird in the tree Mr. Timberlake is holding the tape recorder with the top open. George starts the recorder and the reels turn in opposite directions. When Mr. Pomeroy looks down at them the reels are turning in the same direction and after he climbs back down the top of the recorder is suddenly closed.
