"Would you like a drink?"
"Yes.... but my opening position is 'no'."
"What is your preference?"
"That it ain't been previously swallowed."
(Dialog between Joanie and Jane)
Moreso than other series that I follow I have come to see this amazing series as not exactly TV and more than a series of Broadway performances, each almost self-contained, each with extraordinary ebbs and flow, but not a one with a performance less than great.
If in sport you can name an MVP, then I claim the right to pick the most astonishing performances per episode and here, among tough competition, Robin Weigert as Jane steals the show.
The above dialog is wonderful on its own.
Spoken by Weigert in her unique characterization, it practically soars
