Erin Gray made this episode
wguru2 April 2007
Best 42 yr old I've had the pleasure of seeing before her charms begin to fade. Her fireside strip tease will always be remembered. You might catch this episode's re-run on the web at video.aol.com's Dark Justice link as seen 4-2-07 (video on demand channel, no membership or log-on needed). Plot twists the usual kleptomaniac cat burglar (Erin) who uses her sexual therapy to capitalize upon her rich clientèle's art works. Script pretty ho-hum. Few tired clichés. However the cinematography and cameras lenses definitely made up for this budget minded series. Am certain the Director enjoyed this shoot. Cast and crew as well. Erin's sexuality here makes up for all her 'not all that and a bag of chips' as seen in Buck Roger in the 25th Century (but still I enjoyed her presence, just not as much as in this episode).

not quite ready for prime time

As contrived as this series may have been, both my wife and I are die hard fans. How can you go wrong with a Mark Snow score, ethically questionable vigilantes and updated film noir plots? What a great teaser/tag line, "Justice may be blind; but she can see in the dark".

This episode seems to graphically depict why this show was part of a group called "Crimetime After Primetime". Specifically, the sex therapist's (hence the title "The Specialist") strip tease and musical accompaniment would never have been tolerated (even if enjoyed) during so-called peak viewing hours. To paraphrase the episode tag line, "Chelsea likes!"

If it comes back in syndication or on DVD I'll be first in line for the complete set.
