In the name of the King I demand to see your chicken.

Poor Jonesy makes an error and misplaces £500 in cash, his error nearly tips him over the edge, taking everyone with him, except Fraser who's keen to step into his shoes.

This is a really funny episode, totally surreal, but wonderfully funny. The scene with Harold Bennett, aka Mr Bluett is seriously funny, with some great one liners.

It's the fact that Jonesy is such a lovable old fool makes this episode work beautifully. 8/10

A masterclass in ingenious comedy business

Another Jones focused episode, When Did You Last See Your Money? Is a terrific instalment that follows the platoon's efforts to help Jones find £500 he mislaid after disguising it as half a pound of sausages. It's great to see everyone pulling together to aid one of their number in distress, with Wilson telling Jones "Your problem is our problem." There's a lot of clever comedy business in this episode, starring with a scene in Mainwaring's bombed out office in the bank which begins with him insisting people still use the still-standing doorframe next to a gaping hole in the wall and ends with him trying to do his work under a large umbrella. It shows how ingenious Croft and Perry could be with a silly premise and that skill characterises the whole episode, from a sinister hypnotism by Fraser to a fantastic scene in which the platoon wake up Mr. Bluett at 2am in order to inspect his stuffed chicken. A delight.
