Abrams pursues a relationship with Suzanne Terry, the reporter who helped him, but he's condemned by most because she's African-American. Torello and his wife have a rocky vacation. FBI finally locates Holman.

The Torrellos' vacation is such a nightmare that Mike abandons it & goes back to work. The FBI corners Frank Holman in Cleveland but, despite Danny Krycheck's warnings, fails to close the net tight enough for the wily burglar. With the sports book humming along, the Weisbord Chicago mob is prospering, but while Ray Luca & Max Goldman are planning scores & seeking investors, Phil Bartoli is concerned only with spending his new riches. Walter Clemens cautions Suzanne Terry on her interracial relationship as her romance with David Abrams sizzles. As his marriage disintegrates, Torrello seeks counsel from his best friend, ambitious & successful insurance executive Ted Kehoe, and then finds comfort with Inger Thorson. In a bid to gain the unlimited financial backing of the Midwest Employees Pension Fund, Ray Luca "creates" an opening on the board for Manny Weisbord to fill. Manny's choice: Ted Kehoe.
