Maturing puppy love
JordanThomasHall5 March 2019
Eddie tells his father that he's in love. But, he wonders how to tell if it's really love. He wants to have his birthday party early to have Elsie (Gabie Grammar), the new girl who has moved in down the hall, come over and not be suspicious that he's in love with her. Since she is keeping his sneakers he feels she may be in love with him. Eddie carefully selects an "intimate" number of guests that includes Elsie, a great roughhouser Emily Ruth Gustafson (Erin Moran, "Happy Days", "Joanie Loves Chachi"), Dick (Richard Steele), Frank (Mitchell Sakamoto), and Max (James Cole). He debated on inviting Richard Katkov (Larry Renda) who he feels may be better looking than him, but decides to after reassurance from Mrs. Livingston. Richard asks to bring a girl, Margaret (Lori Specter), with him, which pleases Eddie who feels it will keep him from interfering with his girl. When they arrive Eddie is instantly attracted to Margaret, ignoring Elsie and causing romantic drama to this grade school get-together. However, in his own way, he begins to learn what love really is.

Moral: Love is a considerate feeling beyond physical attraction
