Ricardo is an escape artist and even the sheriff is amazed at Ricardo's act. But the bank is robbed by someone dressed as Ricardo, could it actually be Ricardo. Corky is in awe of Ricardo. And Ricardo is teaching him how to be an escape artist. When Corky has some difficulty escaping In the next town, Sheriff Green is suspicious. Two years back, an escape artist—The Great Escapo—robbed the town of $10,000. Since then the Sheriff has been suspicious of escape artists. Corky has had Ricardo teach him and doesn't believe Ricardo could be the thief. But when he searches Ricardo's trailer he finds a bag full of money. Ricardo says its stage money. He does a quick switch and palms the real bill giving Corky a fake one. Big Tim believes his act is honest but decides he needs to learn some more about him.
Corky follows Ricardo into town and watches as he breaks into the bank and opens the safe. Corky follows him inside and gets locked inside the walk in safe. But Ricardo isn't stealing, he's replacing money. When Big Tim goes to the bank with the sheriff, they find Corky in the safe. But the bank president can't open it, it's on a time lock. Ricardo opens it again. But Ricardo has been replacing the stolen money because Escapo was his father.
