Good Time Charlie
bkoganbing6 March 2016
In his film career Don Taylor played all kinds of charming characters who sometimes had a streak of weakness in them. Here he's a former football hero from college who is now associated with a health club that seems to be doing good. At least Taylor and wife Julie Adams are living well.

What they are is living well beyond their means because Taylor likes living large like a good time Charlie. It's quite a shock to Adams when she learns just how creative his accountant has had to be. As for the business, it isn't really his, those who do own the health club are just using his name as a front. Taylor is on salary and he lives way beyond that salary.

So when he borrows money from nasty people who want either their money paid back or some kind of in kind service that's when Checkmate has to go to work.

Watching this you'll not be sure Taylor is really worth it. Still Taylor delivers a fine performance.
