One of the aerial establishing shots looks over the San Francisco Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge - and the Embarcadero Freeway which fell in the Loma Prieta quake of 1989 (the episode is dated 2003).
It makes no sense for Leo to give Chris half a day of advance warning before dragging him in front of the elders.
