The office of newspaperman Jerry Tobin is the same set used for Lt. Mike Stone's office on The Streets of San Francisco (1972), also a Quinn Martin Production. In a vain attempt to disguise it, the desk was moved to the opposite side of the office.
Two of this episode's guest stars also were also appearing in recurring roles on The Bob Newhart Show (1972). Jack Riley (computer programmer) played Mr. Elliot Carlin, and Florida Friebus (J.R. McIlroy) played Mrs. Lillian Bakerman (and is best remembered as Dobie's mother Winnie on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis (1959)).
Anthony Zerbe played another character name Talbot in the Gunsmoke episode Talbot (1973), which aired nine days earlier.
