Paul Donlan survived, unlike his colleague, an attack with heavy caliber and explosives to rob $3.2 million from his lightly armored van, sent from Robert Mackenzie's bank branch. Horatio happened to be nearby for family business and soon tracks down the partner of the killer, whom he had to shoot for resisting arrest. FBI Agent Peter Elliott gets involved as it turns out the cash was counterfeit, made from Iraqi dollar-like banknotes. Donlan's motive means a major twist, exposing a surprising conspiracy.
