A world-famous poker champion drops dead in the middle of a game. He appears to have had a heart attack. Outside of the city, Nick and Catherine investigate the death of a young street racer.

Nick's car expertise proves valuable when the local street race champion is found shot dead in his car in the desert, apparently during a duel. The motive is to be found is his automotive past. A poker champion died from a lead overdose while playing. Grissom works out how and why.—KGF Vissers

When the notorious poker gambler Doyle 'Candyman' Pfeiffer drops dead on a poker table during a game, Grissom, Warrick and Capt. Brass investigate the crime scene. Dr. Albert 'Al' Robbins learns that Candyman was poisoned by lead and Grissom, Warrick, Sara and Capt. Brass investigate who might have poisoned him. Meanwhile, Catherine and Nick investigate the case of the street racer Jace Felder that was found dead in the desert with a shot on the cheek.
