Bruce McGill, who plays Jimmy Tadero, played Jack Dalton on the original MacGyver (1985). CSI star George Eads would later play Jack Dalton on the reboot MacGyver (2016).
When Grissom speaks to Dave Phillips' father, an Air Force Colonel at Langley, requesting satellite footage, the Colonel makes the first explicit mention of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the series.
While discussing the events at the temple, Grissom mentions being a fan of "Gray's Anatomy". This is not to be confused with the TV series Grey's Anatomy (2005) which did not exist at the time of this episode's airing. Grissom is referencing the textbook of similar name about human anatomy, which was first published in 1858 in London and written by Henry Gray (the TV series Grey's Anatomy took its name from this book).
