K Callan and George Eads in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000)

Goofs

Bad Words

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

Edit

Continuity

The boy's matchbox in the interview room changes from face-forward to back-forward several times.
When Nick shows Catherine that the magnets from the refrigerator at the burned house are no longer magnetic, the magnet in his hand changes position in between shots and also goes from a plastic number 6 to a plastic number 3 in between shots.

Factual errors

When Lab Tech Hodges is explaining to CSI Willows about how the polyurethane foam melted and contributed to the fire, he states that polyurethane foam was banned in 1988. This is not true. There were regulations that went into effect in the United Kingdom in 1988 about the use of untreated foam in furniture, but foam that is treated or manufactured in such a way as to reduce its flammability was still allowed. No such ban was imposed in 1988 in Nevada, United States or went into effect in any other state, although there have been various regulations passed in different years regarding the treatment and use of polyurethane foam in furniture and other applications in the United States.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

The young boy uses chafing dish fuel to write the word on the linoleum floor and then lights it. The word is written in the middle of the kitchen floor, several feet from anything flammable. However, it is pointed out when the CSIs are first going through the house that the adhesive underneath the linoleum is highly flammable, and all that would be needed for it to go up in flames would be a simple crack in the linoleum.

Character error

Although Gena Shaw is credited as playing as "Sabrina James", the victim on the first case, the character's last name was actually "Abernathy", and "James" was her maternal grandmother's name.
