Continuity

When Baker turns his head after hearing the initial crash there is an orange van behind him. When the camera angle changes showing the officers making a u-turn, the van has disappeared.
When Poncherello types in his ID "number", he is shown pressing the P-O-N keys. The computer screen shows his ID number is B600, completely different than what he was typing.
After the attempted kidnapping at the nursing home when the thieves are being chased they pass the same beige Chevrolet sedan twice.

Factual errors

For the initial crash, Baker and Poncherello are shown passing the pickup truck. Some 22 seconds later a crash involving the pickup takes place and Baker turns his head as if he heard the crash. Even if the officers were only doing 30 MPH, they would have been over 1/4 mile away by that time and would not have been able to hear the crash due to distance and the noise from their motorcycles.
When new computer processors (called microchips in the script) are produced, they are not compatible with older components. Morgan is given new expensive microchips, however, he is not given any other components to use them with such as a motherboard, so they would have been of no value.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

Poncherello sweet-talks Deena into recovering his address book from the computer, telling her that her name is there with a star by it. The circa 1982 computer shown was unable to display graphical characters such as stars. However, he was speaking in a figurative sense, as the systems of that day did allow the use of asterisks, which many people referred to as stars, and used them the way Poncherello did.

Plot holes

Since the theft was discovered while the truck was still inside the building and the truck was still there when the police arrived, the police would have searched it and discovered the stolen microchips and the hidden accomplice.

Character error

For Ponch to put his personal info (his address book) on the computer would have been a violation of policy. Deena should have not only refused to help Ponch but reported him for doing it in the first place.
After the computer error is discovered showing Harlan has 10 moving violations, he says if someone runs a check on it he'll go to jail. The character confused moving violations with a license suspension. So long as his license is valid, he could have a high number of moving violations and not be subject to arrest.
