While searching for a suspect's parking tickets, Baricza discovers that Grossman had received a parking ticket at the beach on a day he called in sick. Grossman's parking ticket was issued at Malibu Beach, yet the three officers are only searching through LAPD parking ticket issued within Los Angeles city limits. Although Malibu is now an incorporated city, at the time of this episode (1980), Malibu was an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County, meaning that the L.A. County Sheriff's Department or CHP was responsible for all law-enforcement in Malibu, including issuing parking citations.
As a witness in the case Ponch would not be allowed to be in the court room during the trial.
Ponch and Jon are talking after lights out in the jail (Ponch identifies it as 9 p.m.), yet natural sunlight is clearly visible through an off-screen window, especially in Jon's hair.
