Goofs

Edit

Continuity

Joan is wearing a bright red sweater when she arrives at the BMX meet, yet when she is pictured cheering in the stands, she is wearing a navy-blue sweater. In the very next shot, she is wearing the red sweater again.
The same distinctive and unique yellow hatchback was seen in the car chase scenes that has been in other episodes. It seems to be the only one in LA.

Revealing mistakes

When Getraer's son is hit by the car, one can see that a dummy was used.
When Dutch, Jon, and Ponch climb the storage towers, the actor who plays Dutch is wearing a safety rope in case he accidentally falls off the tower.

Miscellaneous

The CHiPS guys chase the narcotics offender in a blue car from the Freeway to a muddy lot. The chase continues in the lot, and camera shots from inside the blue car show a cracked windshield on the driver's side. But when captured, the windshield shows no cracks.
Not only does that same yellow hatchback show up in the car chase with the narcotics guy, that same orange Volkswagen bug with gray primer also appears here and in other episodes.

Plot holes

Prisoners are never put in the front passenger seat. The sergeant should know better.
