David Boreanaz in Bones (2005)

Goofs

The Girl in the Fridge

Bones

Edit

Continuity

Bones tells Zack to check out a degeneration on the victim's left ilium. However, later scenes refer to the victim experiencing degeneration on her right side, not her left.

Factual errors

The court was identified as U.S. District court for the District of Columbia. However, the flag behind the witness stand is clearly a Maryland state flag, not a District of Columbia flag.
Zack tells Bones that the victim's parathyroid hormone levels were low, which would indicate Hypoparathyroidism, not hyperparathyroidism. This is a mistake no medical professional would make, both a factual and character error.
The staff discussed the victim's hyperparathyroidism. Later Bones makes reference to the victim's "thyroid problem". Other than their proximity to each other in the body, the thyroid and parathyroid glands are completely separate in function in the body.
The endocrinologist states that there are "no pain issues with hyperparathyroidism" yet one of the possible diagnostic criteria is bone pain.

Miscellaneous

Deschanel's accent is inconsistent during her first meeting with the prosecution, just before the courtroom scene; she pronounces "data" two different ways within the space of two sentences.

Character error

Joy Deaver (Alicia Coppola) tells Brennan, about her delivery of expert testimony in court, "You're like Klaatu the robot up there," revealing an imperfect knowledge of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). In that movie, Klaatu (Michael Rennie) was the humanoid extraterrestrial; the robot was called Gort.
Booth instructs Bones not to share information about the scientific findings with Michael, as he will be acting as expert witness for the defendants. However, Booth should know that the defense is entitled to all of the prosecution's information under the rule of disclosure.
