The reference to Bob's similarity to Paul Newman comes from real life mix ups. He mentioned it in his autobiography. Many people who recognized him in public couldn't think of the name Bob Newhart, and the first celebrity name that they said out loud was Paul Newman.
The title is from the movie The Heartbreak Kid (1972) directed by Elaine May, written by Neil Simon, and starring Charles Grodin, Jeannie Berlin, and Cybill Shepherd.
Ronnie asks Bob if he gives the Szondi Test. Bob fumbles around and says he can't find his copy of the test because someone locked his Szondi drawer. The Szondi Test was a non-verbal personality test that involved showing patients photos of people with certain personality traits (hysteric, sadistic, maniacal, depressive, etc). The patient was then asked to choose the most repulsive and appealing photos of each group. The goal was to detect hidden personality traits in the patient. The Szondi Test has been discredited by most psychologists as pseudo-psychology.
