Over the course of the show's syndicated run, two couples who met for the first time on blind dates ended up falling in love and getting married in real life.
While most of the dates followed a set formula (two attractive twenty-somethings would meet in Los Angeles, go to 1 or 2 activities and then have dinner and, if the date was going well, something romantic that would usually involve drinking and/or a Jacuzzi setting), there would be episodes that deliberately broke this mold. These "special" episodes were set in other major American cities like NYC or Miami, and had daters who were different than the "typical" younger dating types (including men and women in their 50's and a pair of little people).
Because many of the blind dates became either disastrous when the daters hated each other or R-rated when they were attracted to each other, the show produced numerous DVD specials with material that was either too horrifying or too raunchy to air on FCC-covered syndicated TV stations.
