Sid's boss J. G. plans to celebrate his wedding anniversary by buying his wife a surprise fur coat, he entrusts it to Sid to take care of. It happens to be Jean's birthday, and she's keen to bunt for her birthday present.
This was definitely an amusing episode, cleverly written and well performed. Plenty of funny moments, including that wonderful scene in the lingerie shop, so funny.
Mix ups were often used in sitcom land, and the mixups here work very well. You have to feel super sorry for poor Jean, of course fur coats are outlawed now, but at the time they were every woman's dream.
Paul Copley was very fine as J. G. and the twist with the wife was very amusing.
