When Manny defects to Goliath Books after an "incident" with Bernard, his ex-employer's life spirals out of control. Meanwhile Fran returns from holiday only to be greeted by the squalor of Bernard's shop.
Fran returns from a holiday in Cornwall to find that Manny has quit and the book shop is in total disarray. Bernard just sits around sulking. Manny is working next door at Goliath Books. It's quite the step-up from Black Books in terms of professionalism and the manager is a bit of a pain.—grantss
