During an obs by CID a disheveled, untidy man picks a fight with a bouncer, he's later identified as suspended DI Harry Haines, Jack Meadows is on the case.
A solid episode, I think the story is a really good one, but this is an instance where the running time is perhaps a hindrance, there's not enough time for the story to develop, nor do we get to learn enough about Haines.
It is a good, solid episode for Jack Meadows though, we see that he actually has a bit of a conscience.
Gary Whelan is pretty good as Harry Haines, and I'm sure he will return.
I have always been a big fan of the wonderful Juliet Cowan, she would appear several times on the show, and many others.
A decent watch, 6/10.
