For the last show of the series we are treated to a dandy story that mainly features Jarrod and Victoria as they deal with a man wanting to kill Victoria for sending his father to prison years ago.
The episode begins as Rich Stokely has been called to prison as his father, a bank robber, is near death. Rich's father had been placed in jail many years ago mainly due to the testimony of Otis Clark (banker) and Victoria Barkley in a trial in Stockton. Now the dying words of a man in prison to his boy is to kill both Clark and Barkley.
In Dodge, a man matching Rich's description robs and kills Otis Clark and while fleeing shoots and wounds Sheriff Madden. And it is not long before Rich Stokely shows up at the Barkley's front door asking for Jarrod to defend him against a crime he said he did not commit.
At the trail, Sheriff Madden confirms that Rich was the man that he saw wound him. But there is also testimony from a cattle owner that Rich Stokley was with him when the murder was suppose to happen. And with the expertise of Jarrod, Rich is found 'not guilty' of the crime.
That very afternoon Sheriff Madden gets a wire from a neighboring town that they have arrested a man matching Rich's description with stolen money from the Clark murder and robbery. There will be a surprise for all the townsfolk of Stockton as now they are not sure if they have let a guilty man free.
A nice story with a fantastic twist to end the show with favorable results. This offering, the last in the entire series, is one of the better episode in the entire collection. Richard Long and Barbara Stanwyck are again outstanding playing their parts to perfection. An interesting and entertaining watch.
