- During Hepzibah's observation of Samantha's marriage to Darrin, she meets one of Darrin's clients, whom Samantha makes fall in love with Hepzibah. Afterwards, the Stephens decide to leave for Salem together.
- Hepzibah, the High Priestess of Witches and Warlocks, has begun her one week observance of Samantha and Darrin ultimately to decide if their marriage - the only mixed marriage of witch to mortal in the cosmos - should be dissolved, unknown to Darrin if that be the case meaning that he too would probably be physically dissolved himself. Beyond the marriage itself, Hepzibah also wants to witness the entire mortal life, which means concepts such as "work", most specifically Darrin's. The week does not start off well, with Darrin well on his way to dissolution. That path is sped up when Larry and Darrin's latest client, Ernest Hitchcock, is about to insult Hepzibah directly for meddling in their business affairs, she who has inserted herself in the middle. To protect Hitchcock, Samantha places a spell on him before he is able to insult Hepzibah to have the opposite opinion of being totally enthralled with her. That spell could change the entire course of Samantha and Darrin's week with Hepzibah, who may get a taste with Hitchcock of what Samantha has had with Darrin - that is unless she finds out what Samantha did.—Huggo
