Endora has been attacking Darrin with more spells than usual of late. This barrage from Endora eventually leads to an argument between Samantha and Darrin, the latter who accuses Samantha of always siding with her mother. An angry Samantha in turn asks Darrin if he is implying that his life would have been better off if he never met her, at which point Endora zaps him out of sight. Despite the fact that Darrin never answered Samantha's question, what Endora did was send Darrin to that alternate reality of a life if he had never met Samantha. Now incensed with what her mother did, Samantha believes that Darrin really did and still does love her and she demands to see what that alternate reality is so that she can answer the question for herself. In seeing that reality, Samantha is able to place a negative spin on many of those items which on the surface seem better in his other life: has nicer clothes, has a nicer car, takes exotic vacations, is an expert golfer, and is on the verge of a partnership at McMann & Tate. But what Samantha cannot tolerate is that Darrin is still dating his old girlfriend, Sheila Sommers, the two who are about to be married. Samantha goes to great lengths to see if Darrin really loves Sheila, and if not would have loved her if she came into the picture at this point in his life.
