- A young woman, a known associate of a big time criminal, has turned Queens evidence. With a £50,000 price on her life, police smuggle the girl to Jersey for her own safety. She is accompanied by a female police officer who uses Jim as her contact on the island. The whereabouts of the girl is top secret and Jim must tell nobody. Following a car accident, the girl recognises a local man with past dealings with the criminal. Fearing for her life she evades her police minder and goes on the run. Suddenly, everyone is searching for the girl - an assassin, a crime journalist and Jim and the police minder. A shoot out follows and the criminals make plans to leave the island. Jim uncovers the plans and confronts them on a beach as they are about to leave. In a final dramatic scene the girl is shot by an unknown marksman.
