Summaries

  • Before undergoing surgery meant to remove both his disfigurement and his alternate personality, Two-Face/Harvey Dent is kidnapped by persons unknown.

Synopsis

  • On a stormy night, Harvey Dent (Two Face) is finally going to have surgery to repair his face. Batman and Robin watch above, to make sure nothing goes wrong. However, in the middle of surgery, masked criminals break in and kidnap Harvey, and Batman Robin fail in chasing them. The two wonder who could've headed the crime, and decide to investigate Harvey's enemies. Batman heads to Arkam Asylum, to investigate the Penguin. Penguin expresses his hatred for Harvey, but says he didn't kidnap Harvey. Robin investigates crime boss Rupert Thorne. In his spying on Thorne through a glass roof, Robin is captured by one of his watchguards. Inside, Thorne tells Robin that he did not kidnap Harvey, although he is glad that the menace might soon be gone. In fact, Harvey finds it absurd that he would even be questioned. Thorne orders his goons to take Robin down to Gotham Gate Bridge and throw him off. Inside the trunk of a car, Robin's hands and feet are bound, and his mouth gagged with tape. He slips a small knife out of his glove and begins sawing away at the ropes around his wrists when the car stops. He is pulled out, and dropped off the bridge. During his fall, he breaks his bonds, swings back up to the bridge and knocks the goons out. He takes the tape off of his mouth and goes to find Batman.

In the end, it was all a scheme by Harvey, and he is rebuilding his crime organization at an abandoned construction zone. He has captured Batman, hanging him upside down with a bomb ready to go off. Harvey uses his coin to decide whther Batman should live. However, Batman replaced his coin with a trick one that lands on its side, and Batman escapes and subdues Two Face.
