"Moonlighting" finds Harris late for work for a change, exhausted due to his second job as 'Captain of Security' (it doesn't last long). John Dullaghan (second of ten) plays a thief brought in by Dietrich, whose 'legitimate' purchase isn't supported by a hand written receipt. His mother named him Sylvester and made him take accordion lessons at age 10 (Dietrich: "she was a disturbed woman Mr. White!"). In checking out White's story, Dietrich picks up the stolen items: "I'll just take a wok over there!" He reports that the thrift shop is full of stolen items and has arrested the owner, Reverend Albert Carrey (George Pentecost, first of two). Barney wonders if they have a strong case against a man of the cloth (Dietrich: "don't worry Captain, it's a good collar!"). Dietrich tries to apologize for the profanity around the precinct, but the Reverend wants no special favors: "all right, the hell with it!" Wojo brings in a retarded young man, Tom Fields (Jan Stuart Schwartz), holding up traffic while trying to retrieve a number of betting slips. He turns out to be a pigeon for bookie and pimp Del Mitchell (Cal Gibson, second of three), inventor of the $50 manicure, who believes that no one can touch him since it's his word against Tom's (Mitchell: "think a judge is gonna believe a dummy?" Barney: "aren't you being a little hard on yourself?").
