Continuity

Timmons tells Boyington his men have finished repairing the landing strip, yet a few scenes later a shot dhows the runway still in disrepair and Boyington's voiceover saying he is worried about Timmons not finishing the job.
Near the beginning, when the Japanese are attacking Vella La Cava, every shot on the ground of people running around and shooting at the Japanese planes, shows gray skies and rain with people dodging mud holes as well as bullets, but every shot of the planes shows blue skies and sunshine.
Stan is cleaning a part in the parts washing barrel when Sgt. Micklin throws another part into the barrel. When he does, it soaks Stan's left arm with cleaner. In the very next shot however, it suddenly shows both of his arms, chest and face covered in the mucky solvent as he begins to wipe himself off.
Although the airfield in supposed to be in poor condition due to rain and mud, the scenes switch times several between muddy conditions to dry conditions then back to muddy.
Even though an episode or two ago it has been established Boyington has somewhere from 22 to 24 kill and thus the stickers, a shot early on in the episode shows Boyington's plane with only six kill stickers.

Factual errors

During the intro they show the Universal Newsreel. One of the scenes of the newsreel shows USAF Airmen in their fatigues with USAF rank stripes. The USAF was created until after WWII (1947) so the airmen would have been US Army Aircorp and had Army rank insignia.
The nurses wear the wrong collar insignia on their green jumpsuits. They are wearing the caduceus with "N" on it which is the symbol of the Army Nursing Corps. The Navy Nursing Corps insignia is a single gold oak leaf.
An opening film clip about Marines at play shows its title with the copyright year of MCMXXXIX, which is 1939. The content of the clip, however, is about fighting Japan in World War II which did not begin until 1941, which should be MCMXLI or later depending upon when the film is supposed to depict the Marines during the war.
Near the end, as Pappy and Casey are preparing to land on the new runway, one of the Corsairs clearly has it's tow hook in the down position as if it were getting ready to land on an aircraft carrier instead of a dirt runway. If the aircraft did land with the tow hook down, it would have severely damaged the rear of the plane as it landed.
