When Marybeth looks in her bag, she sees the glasses folded. At that moment, she takes the specs out of her bag and places them (unfolded) upon the kitchen counter. In the very next shot we see that the glasses are sitting on the kitchen counter folded.
Gary never wears his glasses in the opening scene in the magic-shop.
When Marybeth is in the kitchen, she lifts the lid of the cookie jar with her right hand and reaches in with her left hand to get a cookie. But in the next shot, she puts the cookie in her mouth with her right hand, then uses both hands to retrieve items from her bag. In the next shot, the lid is on the cookie jar.
