This episode was a reunion of sorts for Ann Sothern and Lucille Ball. A year earlier, Ann had appeared in an episode of The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour as Susie (the character from her previous TV show Private Secretary). So in a way, with this episode we learn that Lucy Ricardo is friends with both of Ann Sothern's early TV characters.
It should be noted that Lucy appears without Ricky. And while Desi Arnaz does not appear on screen with his wife for this episode, he does serve an off-camera role as the executive producer. The series is jointly produced by Anso (Ann Sothern's production company) and Desilu (the Arnazes' company).
This special crossover episode means that Lucy Ricardo has traveled in from her house out in the country, since The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour takes place in Connecticut, while The Ann Sothern Show occurs in New York City.
Ann Sothern would team up again with her lifelong friend Lucille Ball for six episodes of Lucy's next sitcom, The Lucy Show, in the mid-1960s.
