Andy Griffith, Maudie Prickett, and James Westerfield in The Andy Griffith Show (1960)

Goofs

The Family Visit

The Andy Griffith Show

Edit

Continuity

At Andy's house, a report comes over the radio that three members of a gang had escaped from prison. Later, when Andy is at the court house and receives the call saying they had been caught, he comments that they "caught 'both' of them." He then calls Uncle Ollie and mentions the two escaped convicts they heard about on the radio.
Early in the episode, Aunt Bee says she will write Ollie and Nora to tell them to visit, yet at the end, she is talking to Nora on the phone.

Revealing mistakes

When Ollie and his family flee Mayberry, the courthouse is on their right. Andy, watching through the courthouse window, turns his head to the left, opposite of the way he should have turned, based on Ollie's direction of travel.

Miscellaneous

Shreveport is not mentioned by Uncle Ollie, he actually says Freeport.
Uncle Ollie and Otis have the same license plate (AY 321).

Errors in geography

Uncle Ollie and family are obviously from Louisiana, since Shreveport is mentioned. Andy erroneously says that one day they'll take the Pullman "up to" Lake Charles rather than "down to." Louisiana is southwest of North Carolina.

Plot holes

The Taylors have a guest room and yet they are sharing beds.
