Don Knotts and Hal Smith in The Andy Griffith Show (1960)

Goofs

Aunt Bee the Warden

The Andy Griffith Show

Edit

Continuity

When Andy takes off Otis's coat before putting him to bed, his suspenders have an "X" back. After he woke up to fill his vase, they have a "Y" back for the remainder of the episode.
When Otis comes down to "fill his vase," he opens the kitchen door which swings in then out. In the next shot, the door is completely still and it wasn't shown coming to a stop.

Factual errors

Andy claims his arm was injured arresting the Gordon boys, but a cast couldn't be applied so soon.

Revealing mistakes

When Otis is standing between the two cells and the Gordon boys grab him and start tussling with him, the brick wall moves when Otis bumps against it.
The show opens with Andy's squad car speeding toward Mayberry, siren blaring, as he is, ostensibly, bringing in the Gordon boys. It is quite evident that there are not five people in the car.

Miscellaneous

Only three of the four actors who play the Gordon brothers are given credit for their roles.

Boom mic visible

When Aunt Bee asks the laundry man to open the van doors, the reflection of the boom mic is visible in the van window.
