After Heyes and Curry learn the name of the Sheriff in town, some text appears, which reads: "Frank Canton was Sheriff of Johnson County, Wyoming from 1883 to 1887. When he died in 1932, full of honors, he was Adjutant General of the State of Oklahoma, and still calling himself Frank Canton -which was not his real name." The text was written with quotation marks, but the source of it is not given.
Roy Huggins freely reused plot points from his earlier classic Maverick. In Two Tickets to Ten Strike (1959) two men forcibly insist that Brett Maverick leave town and not come back and won't explain why they want him to leave.
