The cave Heyes and Julia explore is remarkably well lit considering they didn't bring a torch and caves are pitch black.
Curry's presumably dangerous task of driving the wagon load of explosives did not make sense. The boxes are repeatedly shown marked as TNT rather than dynamite. Dynamite was a dangerous explosive to transport, because if it wasn't properly stored it would break down, and liquid nitro glycerin would ooze out, which would easily detonate it were violently rocked. The creation of TNT solved this problem as it was a "shelf stable" explosive and was not nearly as dangerous to transport. As a result Curry was not in any real danger.
