The life and times of Farty.
Sleepin_Dragon28 March 2019
Poor Bill, she's contending with her rebellious daughter, ill husband and neighbour's flatulent dog.

The show once again deals with the ordinary everyday events, but random events happening to them. The scenes with Bill walking Farty are hilarious, as are those with an ill Ben suffering with man flu.

A hilarious scene where David asks about Rufus, Ben's priceless response, your mother is a dog murderer. Many of us will have been through the trauma of a lost pet.

Another winner. 8/10

This really shouldn't be so funny

Warning: Spoilers
The funniest thing in this episode tbh is the farting dog, which really shouldn't be so funny!

The rest of the episode is a bit somber in many ways.

Bill hates her job, Ben is ill (& a right pain about it) and the dog has to be put down. It's still amusing and excellent telly.

One thing - the synopsis for this page is very inaccurate. The dog is named Rufus (or Farty, if you're the Porters) and he is put down BY A VET, not by Bill wielding pills meant for Ben.

What she does do is give Ben some soluble aspirin intended for the dog after he is a total baby about taking a non-soluble version.

Best line is at the end when Ben asks Bill if she would switch off his life support, positing the bedside lamp as a stand-in for the life support. Obviously Bill immediately switches the lamp off - anyone would! He's being ridiculous! - and then she leans over in the bed and says "Ooh, you've started to go stiff already!" Lol.

One slight failure of this episode is the thunder only Bill seems to be able to hear. On two nights she thinks there's terrible thunder & lightning, but it's clear from what Rona says that no one else is noticing. Maybe this will be picked up later, but it is never explained within the episode.
