Police Detective Gaston Modot finds the end of a rope protruding from the bottom of a wooden door. Being a slapstick comic and not a thinking man, he pulls on it. When he can't pull the other end free, he opens the door, and an enraged bull leaps forth and attacks him and anyone who comes near, in a sort of reversed chase comedy.
It surely amused the lower-class audience than Gaumont made these slapstick comedies for, since it showed the police as being as clueless as could be. I, however, am confronted with a weakness in my appreciation of comedy. I want some sense of motivation. The raw destruction may amuse you.
