CHIPS

Continuity

When Ponch is driving the getaway car in the first heist scene, it's shown as a Chevy SS right up until they arrive at the docks. As he's about to torch the getaway car, the car changes to a Chevy Malibu.
Near the end of the film there's a close up as Ray Kurz is shown tying motor officer's boots which only have laces for a few inches, at the instep of the boot. Later, when he shoots the girl in the swimming pool and a few moments later, when he walks up on Karen who is handcuffed to the post, he's wearing combat boots, which have laces all the way up to the top. Later on, in the fight scene in very last scenes of the film, he's back in motor boots.
During the scene on the highway with the man in the red Ferrari, after pulling the man over, Baker's service weapon disappears from and reappears in his holster throughout the different camera angles.
In one scene Baker is eating and has spilled all down his shirt and on his pants. The stain then appears in only one small spot on his shirt. The stain then changes size a number of times.
When Baker cuffs the guy driving the red Ferrari, Ponch takes the guy away from Baker in cuffs. Then with the camera view changes, the guy has no cuffs and his wallet in his hands and Ponch doesn't have Baker's cuffs in his hands.

Factual errors

When Jon comes home from the hospital, his house had been sold by his wife. In CA, when a married couple, whether whole or separated, sells property, both parties must sign to complete the sale. Jon's house could never have been sold while he was in the hospital and without him knowing and she would never be able to sell the home without his signature/using only her signature.
Early in the movie, cars in Miami have front plates. Florida only issues rear license plates.
The dialogue multiple times references that the copilot pushed the pilot out when in fact on a helicopter the pilot sits in the front right seat not the front left seat as they would in a small plane.
Baker states early in the film that his right humerus is titanium. When he is shot at the end of the film, it looks like the entire upper arm is titanium and then covered with a layer of skin.
When Jon is in the ambulance his head is facing the rear doors. Ambulance patients are always loaded head first.

Revealing mistakes

As Ponch pulls away from the bank robbery you see a California state flag flying in front of the building.
In the final stand off, the Ambulance and Hummer come up from behind the police cars and outside the wall. Seconds later the hummer comes crashing through the gates into the front of the police cars. That is not possible see how it was to the rear of the police cars in the s end just prior to slamming into them. It did not turn off like the ambulance t9 the left.

Miscellaneous

When Jon is outside the convenience store and throws his pills in to his mouth, he drops one on the ground when getting ready to chase a seat belt ticket but acts like nothing happened.

Errors in geography

The bank robbery is supposedly taking place in Miami but during the pursuit, the chase goes over the Vincent Thomas Bridge in the Port of Los Angeles.

Plot holes

Early in the film, Baker mentions that his right humerus (right upper arm) is titanium. At the end of the film, though, bullets are fired at him and they strike his left arm, causing one to ricochet and kill the villain.
