Matbe someone at IMDB will see this and add it. Helen Castle Born Amanda E. Taggart to John Leonard Taggert and Ann E Harmon. In New Palestine, Il in Randolph County December 11, 1872.
Later became Amanda E. Taggart "Ellis" with the marriage to husband A. W. "Jack" Ellis, Who also was a movie actor.
Both worked in the theater at such places in the early years as Glenwood Park and Forest Park theaters In such plays as "The Leopard's Lair" and the "Third Degree" at the Royal.
Before becoming a member of the Chicago based Selig Polyscope movie company."Billing such stars as Tom Mix. Before moving to Los Angeles Ca.
Helen often took her sisters on trips with her and her husband to such countries as Germany and London where she and her husband portrayed in the "A White Man '' aka "The Squaw Man". As well as many others.
Helen was becoming steadily unhealthy. When becoming so ill on her way to Panama to play the second female lead of Chiquita with her husband as well as Wheeler Oakman, Kathlyn Willians and producer William Selig. The movie was Directed by Colin Campbell.
On Jan 4 1915 She returned to New Orleans where her sister Jessie Lee Harper of Murphysboro, Il brought her to her home at 2029 Division street. To stay with her and her husband Jesse Joseph Harper the train master of the St. Louis division of the Mobile and Ohio Railroad.
When she passed away at the age of 42, on March 5 1915 she was taken to her old family home of New Palestine on the Mobile and Ohio RR where she was interred in the old home's burial plot.
Helen Castle was greatly missed by her fans of the Tilford, Star and Gem theaters in Murphysboro as well as the Yale and many others of Carbondale.
