Blacksploitation of the new century

I HATE R Kelly. I didn't think anything would change that.

A friend forced me to watch this. I cringed for around half of it, laughing while constantly making faces at the idiocy of the whole thing. Then I started to understand it.

The movie is basically a musical with R Kelly singing the plot. He "rhymes" (though I use that term lightly, as it is mostly alliteration or R Kelly forcing the words to sound like they rhyme) while telling a tale of utter immorality that is for some reason the norm in the video. Sounds like most rap videos, right? WRONG. The length of the film and the way it's narrated is reminiscent of classical tales told by bards for ages. And the immoral happening seem so improbable that it's just funny. One would think R Kelly is a moron, except that no one could possibly be so moronic that they would make fun of themselves in this matter, unless that was the intention of the film: to by funny.

After watching this movie, I still hate R Kelly, but I also think he's a genius.
