excellent viewing
Although it was not truly a holiday showing it showcased the great vocal talents of the first three American Idols. The singing the harmonies the musicianship was outstanding and touching. The grouping of the three idols with different styles still made for truly enjoyable viewing. Kelly Clarkson shows her single style as well as her ability to sing the r&b style of Ruben and Fantasia. Ruben leads things towards a powerful and strong vocal trend by singing his great single I Need an Angel. Fantasia fresh off her American Idol win is amazing with heart soul and gospel tinged singing.I found the band and musicians and the backing choirs to be some of the best sounds on TV in recent years.

Pure joy!
This show was a pure joy to watch. It's VERY rare that everything in a show clicks like this. Great songs, stellar vocal performances filled with soul and spirit, and a wonderful audience. Kelly, Ruben and Fantasia's love for music really shines through. To this day it still puts a big smile on my face every time I watch the performances. It's almost unfair to mention one specific song, but their collective performance of "You'll Never Walk Alone" needs to be heard to be believed. Truly magnificent. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves music.
I can only echo the sentiment about lack of DVD availability. We want this on DVD now.

Kelly rocks the most
I think this show was amazing and is an excellent opportunity to attack critics who bag American Idols. It is an absolute tribute of raw talent of Ruben, Fantasia and especially Kelly Clarkson who is an unbelievable singer soaring at levels usually reached by afro American females. This is evident when she 'goes off' in her and Fantasia's version of "Jesus,oh what a wonderful child". I have watched this heaps of times, having the fortunate luck of taping it from TV, and i get goose bumps each time i see Kelly rip out high octave notes with such ease and power. Her solo performances are outstanding. I am a hardcore fan of hers and find it hard to believe that this show is not available on DVD. Kelly fans are really missing out. She truly has the voice of an angel. Go Kelly!!
DVD production a must
I too am so sorry that this show has not been made available on DVD. I would assume that there has been no meeting of the minds vis-a-vis the artists and the producers. It is very sad! I only wish that I had thought to tape it.
The show-stopper was the duet between Kelly and Fantasia! I have not heard another rendition of "Jesus, What a Wonderful Child" that comes close to the power of that performance.
It hurts me to think that I might never see that again! I would hope that the decision not to produce the DVD is revisited and revised.
Perhaps that fan in Australia would be so kind as to post that performance on the internet.
