it is not easy to say why is a good series. because all the pieces of story seems be known. because the mix of love, Ndragheta, brothers with different options in life, the desire to conquer the world and the desire of revenge are familiar . and the Italian series are expressions, in too many cases, of the same formula. but this series is different. maybe for the performances and for Gabriel Garko work to be more than a version of Helmuth Berger. for the sensitivity and for the right manner to explore an universe behind the myths. for Virna Lisi. and for the clash between South and North. sure, it has the sins of many other Italian films about the same theme, remembering, in many aspects, soap operas. but , for this reason, in same measure, it has its precise target.
