Regina Ziegler and Degeto combined - expect the worst and it will probably be even worse.

"Die Hochzeit meiner Töchter", which means "My daughters' wedding" is a German television film from 2006, so this one will have its 15th anniversary next year. It runs for 1.5 hours and was direccted by Thomas Jacob. Not too much to say about him. He has been retired for a decade now and if a film like this is what you come up with at the end of your professional career, it is safe to say that there is not much talent with him. A look at his body of work confirms this. The screenplay is by Hoetzel and Siefert and those two have collaborated on many movies. Their bodies of work, also combined, are certainly not as poor as Jacob's, but also not too great. Their last writing credits are from 2013, which means that Hoetzel could be retired now too, but Siefert is still working, however as a composer, which seems to be her key profession. When it comes to writing, this film here is probably a contender for being their worst career effort and this could be a valid statement for everybody on board here, no matter if we are talking about the crew or also the cast, i.e. those you see in front of the camera. Alll three I just mentioned were also part of the original film by the way, the one from three years earlier, so yes, this one we have here is a sequel and let me tell you I watched the first films a while ago too and I must say that one was already one too many and there is no excuse for a second film in existance and also no excuse for the filmmakers returning and for the majority of cast members too. Normally it is a good thing, but here it really just shows that they learnt nothing from how extremely bad the first film already was and also proves that they all have absolutely no talent or creative ambition if they agree to star in something like this again. The first film was based on a novel by the way. If i was the writer, I would have gone to court to forbid both films, but I guess she also realizes nothing and things this is an artistic depction of what she wrote. Oh my. As for the cast: The names Ruland, Kubitschek, Simon and Cukrowski are usually absolutely safe indicators for a film to suck. I could mention some of the male protagonists too, but they are all written in such a shallow and unspired fashion that I cannot even say something because not even the most talented actors worldwide could have made those work. It's a film about female characters mostly as it is for female audiences too. I will get a bit into detail about that later on. And if, by now, you still haven't understood what a terrible movie this is quality-wise, then let me finally direct you to the title of my review, namely the production companies. Two of the very worst, with hundreds, if not thousands, of atrocious small screen releases being evidence of their completeg absence of talent. You can literally feel your brain cells die when you watch Deggeto and Regina Ziegler movies.

Now as for this one: i could write ten paragraphs about individually bad scenes and moments because they are really there every 30 seconds, but then I would certainly soon run into the character limit. I still wanna give a few examples. Kubitschek proves that even almost in her 80s she was still a horrible actress early on when we see her on the bike (tough to mess up a simple scene like that) or how she overly enthusiastic says hi to her daughters. As for the daughters, wasn't the first film about all three of them getting pregnant at the same time? Then where are the kids. They even gave birth, but we only see one baby I think mostly here. And even that is almost irrelevant. Like I wrote earlier, these films are also almost always anti-male. At best, you are just a needy suitor of one of the ladies and agree to play a role for her. At worst, you are constantly in danger of cheating and suspected to be a real pig. It's absolutely disgraceful. If it was the other way around (and if people had actually seen this movie), then female rights advocates (so-called white knights) would be all up in arms. Not ust about this film, about many others too by Degeto and Ziegler. But back to the individual struggles here. Very realistic of course that the old man is in the forest the very same moment like the gang. Or that they actually see him at the theater when they go there. And after the three weddings do not take place, hey let's just have Granny marry her man out of nowhere. We badly need the happy ending. And all conflicts with the daughters are forgotten immediately afterwards too and they hug and kiss it out. Like really, this was all the film is about in terms of conflicts and they are basically just calling everybody in the audience idiots and giving them the finger by saying hey no worries it's all good again. No talking about the situation, no explanations, nothing. But all is solved. Be it the jealousy aspects, be it the fact that a man did not mention his real job to his partner (how embarrassing to work in a car repair shop indeed!), it doesn't even matter. It's all good. Is there anything positive about this film at all? Yes, one thing is highly positive and a truly aesome revelation. That they did not make a third film and keep going with this disaster because, let's be honest here, even if there were another ten films, there never would have been even one included that was at least a weak film and not horrible nonsense. It is also complete failure from the comedy perspectiv in those moments when it tries to be funny. Aside from that, you can say it is a complete back and forth really between I love you. I love you not. And always happens for all three daughters at the exact same time. I actually liked how Cukrowski really felt in a way here as if she knew this was nonsense completely and did not even try and felt so lackluster. Maybe not the best attitude per se, but really it was hopeless here anyway. Just take a look at how everybody wants to get married and at the beginning of the film, nobody wants to. Very realistic to change their minds all of a sudden when it comes to such a crucial subject. If it was even so harmonic for all of them, that you could feel they were made for each other and that, as a consequence, the marries would be a logical consequence, but the opposite is the case: constant uo and down for dramatic reasons. To entertain the (dumb) audicence. Everything is failure here, also the soundtrack that is over the top as always. Or the minor moments. Like when for once all seems ruined again, a big thunderstorm happens. Yeah right. How not to include metaphors in a film. I cannot believe the writers were this bad really after working on several other projects before. I mean I am not even asking for greatness. I am just asking for truly embarrassing scenes and moments to not be included. Instead, they are from beginning to end. A definite contender for worst film from 2006, not ust from Germany, but worldwide. The epitome of a fumb people movie, namely those who believe anything here feels real cannot be described any differently. Sorry, it may sound harsh, but it's true. I never give 1/10 ratings, but if I did, here I would without hesitation. Skip at all costs.
