This Russian animated short is a beautiful tale about compassion and human cruelty, which tells the history of a hunting dog who develops tender feelings towards a wounded bird which was supposed to be the prey of his human master.
Like "Hunt" from the director Eduard Nazarov, this is mostly an anti-hunt fable, which never feels preachy or anvilicious. The sceneries are wonderfully detailed, with a subtle use of colors and a very cute design of characters.
The whole short has a melancholic atmosphere which fits perfectly with the overall tone of the story, being quite sad but heartwarming at the same time.
