Fantastic
When I first received this DVD, I was quite excited indeed! I tore open the package, and saw the DVD in it's bursting splendor. The cover was very good, although not printed as a wide release would be, still,, it looked very professional. A grand job well done. But the best part about it all is the actual DVD itself. It's holographic, and it is the best DVD design out of the three movies, or for that matter, any DVD.
So anyways, I popped it into the old player, and what do I get? A completely animated Cube 2: Hypercube background, the Cube Zero score playing, with two options: Sci-Fi London Premiere, or Re-Entering the Nightmare: An Interview with Mark Sanders.
I first played the Sci-Fi London featurette. It had some great shots of the theater, people who were awaiting Cube Zero, and then Mark Sanders. Although it's hard to hear, it's an audience->Mark Sanders Q&A. Interesting, I thought. Let's see what the other is like.
So I went back to the menu, and chose Re-Entering the Nightmare. Now this, this is the highlight of the entire thing. At 25 minutes long, this is the most informative and interesting interview I've ever seen. Shot in the hotel room Lennie and Mark were staying in, it covers many interesting things, and is exquisitely informative about Cube 2 and Cube Zero. I learned a lot about how the two films were shot, edited, re-shot, green screened, etc., and Lennie has added some great pictures and video clips in to show what Mark is talking about. That, was purely marvelous and I never once lost interest.
Overall, this was a fantastic production by Lennie Overgaard. I cannot wait to see what he does next. 9/10.
