As Gideon tumbles down the slope, he loses two hats.The first veers off to the left, and the other appears in snow kicked up from him falling a second or two later.

After going over the falls, Gideon surfaces with his saddlebags, even though they had been draped over his fur-coated arm and he had to struggle out of the coat when it got snagged on some branches underwater at the bottom of the falls.

At the start of the movie, when Gideon moves around to create false trails after falling in the river, his fire alternates between burning and out each time he passes it. When Carver and his men arrive, the fire is out.

When the colonel chases the bank robbers, the weather shifts from overcast to clear blue skies.

When Gideon rides past the wagon train, the sunlight in his closeups comes from a different direction than the shots of the pioneers. It's especially noticeable when the woman calls out,"God sees your sin!"

The closing credits misspell "Lordsburg" as "Lorsburg".

At the railroad camp, numerous extras flail away at the new railroad tracks with spike hammers, even though no one is actually installing any spikes. In one particularly obvious case, two teams of laborers drop two rails on the roadbed side by side, then start hammering on them, without anyone placing any spikes, or even bothering to gauge the distance between the rails.

As Gideon travels through the desert, tire tracks appear next to his horse.

The .44 caliber bullet that Louise gives to Gideon for his pistol in exchange for his horse is a long rifle round, not a shorter pistol round, and it's a flat-nosed target round, not a regular round-nosed bullet.

When Carver trades his horse for a bullet from Madam Louise, his horse is loose several feet from the wagon,as he walks away. When Madam Louise rides off, the horse is tied to the back of the wagon.

Gideon crawls inside a horse that he had just killed. When the opportunity arrives, he jumps out and confronts Carter with no blood on him or his clothes despite the ground and the horses organs being covered with blood.

Several scenes show contrails in the sky.

In the track laying scenes, the railroad ties are all perfectly square. At the time, railroad ties would have been very rough, and not necessarily even in size and shape.

When Pope is killed, Carver takes Pope's horse with the 'posse', later leaving it st the settler's cabin. However, when a) Gideon flees his camp in the first scene, b) the Kid is knocked off his horse and killed, c) the posse finds Gideon's camp with the settler's horse, all these horses are left behind when the 'posse' moves on. In that era, no-one would have left behind valuable items such as horses and saddles. Carver's hired guns would have certainly seen these horses and saddles as a way to supplement their income from the pursuit.
