Celia Imrie and David Suchet in Poirot (1989)

Goofs

Taken at the Flood

Poirot

Edit

Revealing mistakes

(At about 21:40) When Poirot examines the two newspapers at the inn, the headlines and main articles are different, but the other pieces on the front page are identical in both "editions" - obviously the same mock-up.

Anachronisms

Telephony of the 1940's continued almost unaltered until the 1960s when Unit Automatic Exchanges (UAX) serving villages and small towns were gradually replaced. All used a subscriber numbering system using Level 2 (and Level 3 for larger towns) hence the number quoted of 1139 is quite impossible. (It would be OK in London or the other five Director areas) Also the UAX supplied dialling tone as a low purring, NOT the modern-day higher pitched continuous note, as used in this production.
